It was recombined as Megalaspis hyorrhina by Bohlin (1949); it was recombined as Megistaspis hyorrhina by Jaanusson (1953); it was recombined as Rhinoferus hyorrhinus by Balashova (1976); it was recombined as Megistaspis (Rhinoferus) hyorrhina by Hoel and Høyberget (2002), Hansen and Nielsen (2003).
