Taxonomy
Sierradiadema kristini was named by Mooi and Hilton (2014). Its type specimen is CASG 72939, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cherokee Bar, which is in a Callovian slope slate in the Mariposa Formation of California.
