Taxonomy
Dictyopyge meekeri was named by Schaeffer and McDonald (1978). Its type specimen is AMNH 4762, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Boscabel Quarry, which is in a Carnian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Tuckahoe Formation of Virginia.
