Taxonomy
Muensteroceras latumbilicatum was named by Kullmann (1961) [The original code for the holotype was Ce 1160 / 573 (Kullmann, 1961)]. Its type specimen is GPIT-PV-66558, a shell, and it is a mold.
It was recombined as Hammatocyclus latumbilicatus by Ebbighausen et al. (2010).
