Taxonomy
Clavella sinuata was named by Gabb (1866). It is the type species of Koilopleura.

It was recombined as Agasoma sinuata by Gabb (1869); it was recombined as Agasoma sinuatum by English (1914); it was recombined as Koilopleura sinuata by Trask (1922).
