Karoopes gansfonteinensis
Taxonomy
Karoopes gansfonteinensis was named by Marchetti et al. (2019). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is GF-TR 1 (cast Iziko South African Museum, Cape Town, SAM-NN 1), a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Gansfontein, Fraserburg, which is in a Capitanian fluvial horizon in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa.
