Taxonomy
Aucella elderensis was named by Anderson (1945). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 29694, near Hull's Gate, east of Lowry road, south fork of Elder Creek, which is in a Tithonian marine horizon in California.
It was synonymized subjectively with Aucella piochii by Imlay (1959); it was recombined as Buchia elderensis by Jones et al. (1969).
