Hoplopteryx dakotaensis
Taxonomy
Hoplopteryx dakotaensis was named by Grandstaff and Parris (2016). Its type specimen is SDSM 110292, a partial skeleton (anterior part of skeleton and scale impressions), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Olson and Kudlock Ranches, which is in a Turonian marine limestone/shale in the Carlile Shale Formation of South Dakota.
