Aestuarichthys fulcratus
Taxonomy
Aestuarichthys fulcratus was named by Gardiner (1969). Its type specimen is South African Museum, Cape Town, a partial skeleton (rather poorly preserved fish wanting tail and pectoral fins), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Soetendalsvlei, which is in a Tournaisian lacustrine - large mudstone/marl in the Waaiport Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Aestuarichthys.
