Sphaerophycus parvum

Taxonomy
Sphaerophycus parvum was named by Schopf (1968). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Harvard Univ. 58472; stage coordinates 51.5 x 104.2 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North of Ross River Tourist Camp, which is in a Tonian peritidal chert in the Bitter Springs Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Sphaerophycus.

It was corrected as Sphaerophycus parvus by Muir (1976).
