Globophycus rugosum

Taxonomy
Globophycus rugosum was named by Schopf (1968). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Harvard Univ. 58501; stage coordinates 51.7 x 104.5 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North of Ross River Tourist Camp, which is in a Tonian peritidal chert in the Bitter Springs Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Globophycus.
