Taxonomy
Archaeoellipsoides costatus was named by Sergeev et al. (1995). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is GINPC 465 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample 576(48), Kotuikan River, Anabar Uplift, which is in a Calymmian peritidal dolomite in the Kotuikan Formation of the Russian Federation.
