Taxonomy
Palaeoanacystis magna was named by Awramik (1989). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is SMA 524 at 28.9x16.9 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SMA 524, upper Tindir Creek, which is in a Tonian deep subtidal ramp lime mudstone in the Craggy Dolomite Formation of Canada.
