Clonophycus biattina was named by Oehler (1978). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample 106, Balbirini Homestead, which is in a Calymmian peritidal dolomite in the Balbirini Dolomite Formation of Australia.
