Taxonomy
Oscillatoriopsis psilata was named by Maithy and Shukla (1977). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Talsoi River, south of Rampura, which is in a Statherian marine shale in the Suket Shale Formation of India.
