Animikiea beltensis

Taxonomy
Siphonophycus beltensis was named by Horodyski (1980). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is USNM 264573, coordinates 23.0x/27.1y and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East side of Highway 89 (119 m above contact), which is in a Calymmian marine shale in the Newland Formation of Montana.

It was recombined as Animikiea beltensis by Mandal and Maithy (1984).
