Taxonomy
Aspidoceras bodenbenderi was named by Behrendsen (1892). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Las Manzanas, which is in a Tithonian carbonate limestone in the Vaca Muerta Formation of Argentina.

It was recombined as Hypowaagenia bodenbenderi by Parent et al. (2022).
