Polygnathus dubia asymmetrica was named by Bischoff and Ziegler (1957). It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Polygnathus asymmetrica by Ziegler and Klapper (1964); it was recombined as Polygnathus asymmetricus by Druce (1976); it was recombined as Mesotaxis asymmetricus by Ovnatanova and Kononova (2008); it was recombined as Mesotaxis asymmetrica by Ovnatanova et al. (2017).

Median ridge slightly arched and reaching pos- terior end of platform. Free blade from one-sixth to one-third as long as platform. Troughs short and poorly pronounced. Platform surface uniformly covered with fine nodes. Basal cavity small, lens-shaped, symmetrical, and located in anterior third or near platform middle. Keel low and thin. |
