It was recombined as Xenodiscus demissus by Griesbach (1880); it was recombined as Ophiceras demissum by Diener (1897), Spath (1934), Zhao and Wang (1974), Zhang et al. (2017); it was recombined as Metophiceras demissum by Dai et al. (2023).
