Eutelecrinus welteri was named by Wanner (1916). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Basleo (Wanner collection), which is in an Artinskian marine horizon in Indonesia.
It was recombined as Paraeutelecrinus welteri by Frest and Strimple (1980) and Webster and Webster (2012).
