Acharax frenademezi was named by Prinoth and Posenato (2023). Its type specimen is MLCS1720, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is PR61, Preroman, which is in a Changhsingian shallow subtidal limestone in the Bellerophon Formation of Italy.
