Taxonomy
Glaucolepis magna was named by Nielsen (1942). Its type specimen is 1, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kap Stosch area, Fish-zone V, which is in a Griesbachian marine limestone in Greenland.
It was recombined as Pteronisculus magna by Gardiner et al. (2005).
