Taxonomy
Mentzelia kawhiana was named by Trechmann (1917). It is not extant. Its type locality is Tarawai Point (Rhaetian beds), which is in a Rhaetian marine sandstone/conglomerate in New Zealand.
It was recombined as Callospiriferina kawhiana by MacFarlan (2023).
