Taxonomy
Ptychomphalus agassizi was named by de Koninck (1883). It is not extant. Its type locality is Pauquys, which is in an Ivorian carbonate wackestone in the Waulsort Formation of Belgium.
It was recombined as Mourlonia agassizi by Wagner (2023).
