Taxonomy
Palaeoniscus hancocki was named by Atthey (1875). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NEWHM G60.11, G60.12, a partial skeleton.

It was recombined as Rhadinichthys hancocki by Woodward and Sherborn (1890).
