Acanthoceras rhotomagense sussexiense
Taxonomy
Ammonites sussexiensis was named by Mantell (1822). Its type specimen is BM 5691 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hamsey, Sussex (Lower Chalk), which is in a Cenomanian carbonate chalk in the Beer Head Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Acanthoceras sussexiense by Wright and Wright (1951); it was recombined as Acanthoceras rhotomagense sussexiense by Kennedy and Hancock (1970).
