Nannometoicoceras acceleratum
Taxonomy
Metoicoceras acceleratum was named by Hyatt (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Horton's Mill, Elm Fork, which is in a Cenomanian marine horizon in the Britton Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Nannometoicoceras.
It was synonymized subjectively with Metoicoceras gibbosum by Cooper (1978); it was recombined as Nannometoicoceras acceleratum by Kennedy (1988), Cobban et al. (1989).
