Taxonomy
Brasilennea guttula was named by Salvador and Simone (2012). Its type specimen is MCT 6940-I, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is São José de Itaboraí (S1 sequence), which is in a Ypresian lacustrine limestone in Brazil.
