Cretadiostoma umbilicarinatum was named by Yu et al. (2023). Its type specimen is NIGP179885, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
