Taxonomy
Tetragonolepis murchisoni was named by Fischer von Waldheim (1842). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GMRA YI 228, a dermal scale.

It was recombined as Acrolepis murchisoni by Eichwald (1860); it was recombined as Grygorichthys murchisoni by Esin (1990).
