The epithet archangelskyi honors the distinguished Argentinean paleobotanist and palynologist Dr. Sergio Archangelsky.
Taxonomy
Parviprojectus archangelskyi was named by De Benedetti et al. (2023). Its type specimen is MPEF-PA 967, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Paleoazolla type locality, Cerro Buitre, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the La Colonia Formation of Argentina.
