Taxonomy
Sinum danvillense was named by Harris and Palmer (1947). Its type specimen is PRI 4521, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Danville Landing, which is in a Priabonian marginal marine marl in the Moodys Branch Formation of Louisiana.
