Erato maugeriae was named by Gray (1832) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Recent; Wester Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Hespererato maugeriae by Rosenberg (2005); it was recombined as Archierato maugeriae by Fehse and Simone (2020).
