Lyrodesma armoricana was named by de Tromelin and Lebesconte (1875).
It was recombined as Noradonta armoricana by Pojeta and Gilbert-Tomlinson (1977); it was recombined as Tromelinodonta armoricana by Babin (1982).

C. Babin 1966 | Coquille équivalve, inéquilatérale, convexe, bien caractérisée par la position du septum myophore qui confère à l’umbo un aspect bifide. De contour ovalaire, chaque valve présente une région cardinale trianguliforme avec crochet bien marqué ; angle cardinal d’environ 120° ; côté antérieur, palléal et postérieur régulièrement
arrondis. Les deux empreintes adductrices sont limitées sur leur bord interne par une lame myophore, celle du muscle antérieur étant la plus forte. La charnière comporte, sur un plateau cardinal large, 5 à 7 dents crénelées, convergeant vers l’umbo ; les deux postérieures sont plus allongées ; ligament externe. Ornementation concentrique mal connue. |
