Eocypraea (Eocypraea) jimgoederti was named by Groves (2011). Its type specimen is LACMIP 13647 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 16851, Doty Hills, which is in a Ypresian marine sandstone in the Crescent Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Eocypraea jimgoederti by Groves and Squires (2023).
