Taxonomy
Eocypraea judithsmithae was named by Groves and Squires (2023). Its type specimen is LACMIP 40372.1, LACMIP Type 14940 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CSUN Loc. 372, Devil Canyon, Santa Susana Mountains, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian offshore sandstone in the Llajas Formation of California.
