Eoclathurella was named by Casey (1904) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m-u T Eo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 700]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Clathurella (Eoclathurella) by Harris and Palmer (1947).

It was assigned to Turridae by Wenz (1938); to Clathurella by Harris and Palmer (1947); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
