Taxonomy

Volutilithes (Neoathleta) uniplicata was named by Furon (1948). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Togblékové, bed 6, which is in a Thanetian carbonate limestone in Togo.

It was recombined as Volutilithes (Afrovolutilithes) uniplicata by Adegoke (1977).
