Taxonomy
Pacitrigonia sobrali was named by Leanza and Casadío (1991). Its type specimen is GHUNLPam 399, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barda Baya, which is in a Maastrichtian marine limestone in the Roca Formation of Argentina.

H. A. Leanza and S. Casadío 1991Large-sized inequilateral shell. Ornamented flank with fine and raised subconcentric ribs, subparallel to the ventral edge. Presence of undulations towards the posterior part of the valve, which may lead to elongated pustules. Narrow and shallow antecarinal groove, adorned only by striae. Well-defined marginal ridge extending halfway along the valve. Narrow area, adorned by weak radial ribs. Excavated umbo, exhibiting growth striae exclusively.
