Hemithyris pareti was named by de Verneuil (1850) [Hemithyris Pareti].

It was recombined as Rhynchonella pareti by Fuchs (1899); it was recombined as Trigonirhynchia pareti by Westbroek (1967); it was recombined as Oligoptycherhynchus pareti by García-Alcalde (1979); it was recombined as Inaequalibellirostrum pareti by Sartenaer (2010).
