Siphonophycus septatum
Taxonomy
Tenuofilum septatum was named by Schopf (1968). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Harvard Univ. 58527; stage coordinates 20.3 x 96.7 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North of Ross River Tourist Camp, which is in a Tonian peritidal chert in the Bitter Springs Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Gunflintia septata by Oehler (1977); it was recombined as Siphonophycus septatum by Riedman et al. (2023).
