Knemiceras tunisiense was named by Latil and Jaillard (2023). Its type specimen is UJF-ID.15143, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is FA.18, Foum el Argoub, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Zebbag Formation of Tunisia.
