Orbignyopora opulenta was named by Viskova and Pakhnevich (2010). Its type specimen is PIN, no. 5038/46 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Auarry near the railroad station of Gzhel’, which is in a Callovian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
