Taxonomy
Strobilepis spinigera was named by Clarke (1888) [Clarke in Hall & Clarke 1888]. Its type specimen is NYSM 4815 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hall Locality 67. Hall Locality, Menteth's Point, Canadaigua Lake, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Moscow Formation of New York.
