Taxonomy
Maenioceras afroterebratum was named by Bockwinkel and Korn (2024). Its type specimen is MfN MB.C.31947.1, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Oued Mzerreb-W, bed 6, which is in a Givetian marine horizon in Morocco.
