Colapterochiton decorus
Taxonomy
Colapterochiton decorus was named by Hoare and Mapes (1985) [= Pterochiton carbonarius Stevens, Hoare, Mapes & Atwater 1983 p. 999 (part)]. Its type specimen is OSU-36992 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East-west trending gullies on the east side of an unnamed tributary of Sycamore Creek on the Daube Ranch, which is in a Morrowan carbonate limestone in the Golf Course Formation of Oklahoma. It is the type species of Colapterochiton.
