Taxonomy
Abronia cuyama was named by Scarpetta and Ledesma (2023). Its type specimen is UCMP 54560, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Big Cat Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial horizon in the MR Caliente Formation of California.
