Paraglochiceras lauteli

Taxonomy
Paraglochiceras lauteli was named by Collignon (1959). It is not extant. Its type specimen is UBGD.010438, a shell. Its type locality is Région d'Ampanihy sur Bevoay au Nord de l'Analavelona (Manera), which is in a Kimmeridgian marine marl in Madagascar. It is the type species of Paraglochiceras.

Collignon 1959A species close to "Glochiceras" propinquum of Waagen which must be placed in this new genus which differs from Glochiceras and especially from Hildoglochiceras by the existence of a barely perceptible median spiral furrow instead of being well marked and very deep. Relatively thick shell with large external ribs, very concave in front and the end of which is very strongly projected forward on the external region No keel Section -oval- Partition noticeably more indented than that which Spath represented for P. propinquum. unfortunately invisible on the internal part of the flanks, Middle Kimmeridgian - Zone with Hybonoticeras hybonotum and Aspidoceras acanthicum.
