Taxonomy
Ranella louellae was named by Beu (1988). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7689 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP loc. 26456, Panoche Creek, which is in a Selandian marine horizon in the Lodo Formation of California.
