Taxonomy
Ammonites rupellensis was named by d'Orbigny (1850). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MNHN R04157.

It was recombined as Euaspidoceras rupellensis by Collignon (1959); it was recombined as Paraspidoceras rupellensis by Hantzpergue (1987), Hantzpergue (1989).
